Japan’s real estate sector was recognized at the 2025 PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Japan), held on December 12 in Bangkok, Thailand. The ceremony brought together developers, industry leaders, and professionals from across the country to acknowledge excellence in property development and design.

The Japan awards form part of the wider PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, which recognize outstanding real estate across the region. The Japan edition highlights projects and professionals that reflect the breadth and evolution of the country’s property market, with country-level winners progressing to the Asia Property Awards Grand Final.

Eddie Guillemette, who serves as chairperson and judge of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards (Japan), highlighted the awards’ significance in the context of Japan’s growing year-round appeal.

“Across dynamic property markets, we’re celebrating outstanding real estate inspired by the year-round lifestyle appeal of Japan,” Guillemette said. “We’re recognizing achievements across the board, from affordable to bespoke homes, plus exemplary commercial and hospitality spaces. They truly raise the bar for high-quality property development and design throughout the country.”

Jules Kay, general manager of the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards, noted Japan’s evolving prominence in real estate.

“The expansion of our awards series in Japan aims to capture the full spectrum of its property market, showcasing Japan’s appeal beyond its renowned winter resorts and including regions and cities where one can live, work, and thrive year-round.”

This year’s winners included Singapore-based Jean Yip Developments, which received both Best Developer and Best Lifestyle Developer for JY Suites Tsutenkaku in Osaka. Sapporo-based Sango Construction Co., Ltd. was awarded Best Luxury Villa Development for the Sango Project in Otaru, Hokkaido.

Following the Japan awards, selected winners were present at the PropertyGuru Asia Property Awards Grand Final. Jean Yip Developments went on to receive the Best Affordable Condo Development (Asia) award, marking a strong showing for projects recognized through the Japan awards.
